Marriott Taste of Gold: Creating a Seamless User Experience

I led the end-to-end execution of the Marriott Taste of Gold initiative, a key collaboration between Chase and Marriott impacting ~7.4M affluent cardholders. This involved full roadmap ownership, UI enhancements, and a migration from a manual enrollment process to OAuth authentication, allowing users to securely log in via Marriott’s platform.

During development, we faced a major UI roadblock that required a strategic pivot. I conducted a risk/reward analysis and worked cross-functionally to determine the best approach, ultimately opting for a hybrid login model that balanced seamless user experience with development feasibility, ensuring on-time delivery within contractual constraints.

Beyond enrollment, I improved offer visibility by integrating an additional entry point within the messaging carousel. Despite initial pushback, I successfully advocated for its inclusion by streamlining processes and aligning stakeholders. This optimization led to a 10% increase in page impressions compared to the holdout group.

With ownership extending beyond UI, I also navigated backend integration challenges, stepping in when a key PM was re-assigned. I collaborated with data architects and engineering leads, facilitated knowledge-sharing sessions, and drove story mapping workshops across four engineering teams, ensuring a well-coordinated, successful launch across web and native platforms.
